I am so happy so many people commented, I asked if I could call him back (just like the others he told me I was getting $9,000 back from the government) I was about to just hang out but then he started cursing at me, called back hours later & my husband answered & he started to curse him out- I was honestly worried until we came across this page- thanks everyone for writing!

I got a call from a gal names "Grace" who did not speak english very well and the call from Washington DC, so they try to get you to believe it's true. She says I was selected for a drawing to win $8000 and did not have to pay back. I just hung up. People need to stop scamming.

Got a call answered it and Was a guy that said my phone number was selected to receive $7000 from the US treasury department and would never have to pay it back. I told him I would like to have him remove my number from their list and all of a suddened he tells me who the fu*k am I to be telling him what to do and I asked to talk to his supervisor and he hung up. I called back that number and it said not a working number.

yup, very similar situation here. It was a woman, and when did a double take and ask, "wait, did you say you work for the U.S. government?" she promptly hung up. Any attempts to call back the # result in a "the number you've dialed is not in service." Seems like a google voice/VOIP phone number.

Just got the same phone call!!!!

I was told to call 315-875-7977 and ask for R. M. and provide this fake grant approval #GP771. He wanted to charge me a $250.00 registration fee and they would send me $9,000.00. Totally a scam.
