A computerized voicemail saying they're from the United States Treasury. Similar to most people's experience on here. I read one person called back and was asked to pay $200 before they can send the money by Western Union. Yeah I would say that's a scam!

Indian or Pakistani,Hindu lady tell me I was chosen for grant of 9k to do as I wish. Have me another phone number to call with ME # AC015" I call same type of person but a guy, tells me he will deposit it in account,or western union, I needs a few 200$

IRS Tax Evasion Scam (Scam call) reported by EJ
These crooks are really something else!! They've called me 6 times yesterday ALONE & between 3-5 calls everyday for the last week straight. They're calling from a Washington DC phone #, which is deceiving enough considering the IRS is located out of Washington DC too. Whether the call is picked up or it goes to my voicemail, it's always an automated system. They're stating that I need to call this number back in regards to an IRS tax evasion case immediately, or else my SS# will be suspended & my local police will come to arrest me. I've contacted the IRS in regards to this matter, as I've recently had an issue with identity theft & thought I had finally gotten it under control & they said that this is in fact a scam that they are very aware of & attempting to get to the bottom of on their ends. They also made me aware of another point in regards to this scam, that each successful conversation had with these scam artist's, the amount that is supposedly owed increases significantly. They advised me obviously not to give them any information or money at all & if possible to also block any further contact from them. They also said that this is not the only reported phone # they've called from or that they ask to call back. #BEWARE #IRS_SCAM #SCAM_ARTISTS #20264216xx
