Scam Federal Grants Call - Don't send money (Scam call) reported by


They said I won an $8k grant for paying taxes, good record, etc., etc. Sounds like a call center with multiple callers in background. Said must pay out via Western Union, Money Gram or onto a prepaid card. Will pay in 15-30 minutes. I asked for a check or for them to mail me a prepaid card. He said they could not do that. I said no thanks knowing it was a scam. I was just curious what their response would be. Don't send money. The government receives tons of grant requests each year. If they had additional money, it would go to a grant requester, not a random taxpayer.

Scam for sure

They said exactly the same things in same order to me. When I asked why dont you send a check and why only Western Union she abruptly disconnected the call making it sound she was about to provide justification but we got cut off due to call drop. I am sure it is a scam but worrying part is how they got all my information (phone number, name, area I live in etc.) Scary.

said I won $8000 "grant money" bc of a survey and paying my taxes, having no criminal rec, etc. they had my name and address and email address. wanted me to "verify" my age and so on. but I refused to give them any info they didn't already have. i wonder how they got as much as they did. And he was like "well its your money, it's your choice" and the Convo ended. so i guess I'm not getting that $ huh? xP hate these calls. and yeah it sounds like it's from a call center.

They called me saying I was wish a company I'd just interviewed at to tell me I'd just won $9000 which I would never have to pay taxes or anything if the sort on. Obvious scam, sounded like it was based out of a call center

These people are claiming to be from the US Treasury department. They said I will receive $9000 in grants money.. But they want me to send them about $300 to receive it.. I don't think so..
