Governmental scam originating from Pakistan (Telemarketer) reported by


Received this call from a gentleman claiming he was from the Department of Health and Human Services in DC I asked him to provide the address which he did then I asked him why he was calling and he told me I had been awarded some grant money around $8,000 I asked him to elaborate more he did I then advised him that my uncle works for the FBI in the fraud division but I didn't appreciate him calling me from India. At that point he became irate and started screaming at me and said I would never be from India because I live in Pakistan. So this gentleman admitted he was from Pakistan not DC to which I told him he was a scam and I was reporting him and he screamed at me to go ahead. These people need a life.

Got a Washington DC number calling and figured it was a scam. Answer to an Indian man with alot of background noise. I said hello and I can hear a muffled voice in the distance and then another then the man with the accent said my name. I didn't acknowledge the name and just asked who was calling. I hear the same muffled background voice say somthing about calling from the federal government, then the other voice repeated it. I said "Are you sure or is that just what the guy telling you what to say told you?" He said ok and hung up.
