Called multiple times in one day, I finally answered and they stated they were with the IRS but the guy had a very hard to understand accent and the number was from washington. I am very cautious of these phone calls, but seeing as I am making payments to the IRS for tax reasons I actually thought this may be something pertaining to this. I was wrong, the guy started to explain I owed money but the amount was incorrect from what I am paying off. A whole lot more $$$$ than I owe. He would barely let me get a word in. And when I explained that I make payments he could care less which made me realize he was wanting something else. I was notified that there was a warrant out for my arrest (that is when I remembered this same phone call a year ago for a different amount of $). After research from the first time I realized it was a scam. The guy gave me to options on how to handle this before the police get involved. I told him "I do not believe you are being honest with me, I think you are a scammer. If this were really the IRS why have I not received anything in the mail from them?" I hung up and blocked the call. I am concerned that even though I did not give them that much information I did confirm my name, number and zip code with them. Can someone tell me if I need to further protect myself now? I am a pretty concerned now. THanks

they called 2 times same day hours within each other. 1 - left a voice mail from an automated call saying I had a warrant for my arrest from IRS the 2nd call I answered. Automated call saying I must call the number bc I have a warrant for my arrest from IRS. I googled the number and see others say its scam

The individual claimed to be an investigator of the IRS and that there was an arrest warrant about to be issued for me. I had "45 minutes" before I was arrested. Very rude individual who wanted to know if I was alright with being arrested. When I asked him what the IRS warrant referenced, he yelled at me at told me I was going TO BE ARRESTED. So I hung up and blocked the number.
