Threat to Auto-debit bank account (Scam call) reported by


The caller originally left a message that unless I called them they would automatically debit $299.99 from my "given" account. I returned the call and the phone was answered 'Hello.' The person refused to give his name. Said he was associated with a business (not associated with BestBuy) called Geek Squad. He indicated that the business was based out of California. I asked if he had my bank account information. He said he did. He would not tell me even the name of my bank. He never asked once asked for me by name or asked me my name. I was disconnected when I asked, "Why then, does my caller ID say you are calling from Washington?" The caller refused to answer the phone when I called back until I waited several minutes. He disconnected me several times before I was able to tell him that he was going to be reported to the FBI, the State Attorney General's Office and my local police department. My local police department advised that they cannot get involved until money is actually taken from my account. I was also advised by the police to report the incident to www.ic3.gov (Internet Crime).

I have been called by this number, numerous times and each time was given a different phone number to call back....... 401-214-0435 and 678-250-5331..... but the call came from 206-502-1002.... Also interesting that it is a robo voice......
