"Betty Thompson" calling about Federal Student Loans (Scam call) reported by


"Betty Thompson" left me a message in reference to my federal student loans to discuss repayment options as there have been some "new changes". Left a different number to call back along with a "reference number". Never stated what financial institution she was with. I do have federal loans through nelnet that I am up to date with and pay monthly, but I have received no such correspondence from them. Likely a scam call.

Caller identified herself as Betty Thompson concerning my federal student loan debt and changes for repayment. I had received a call from a different number same name same voice the week before concerning my unsecured credit card debt and the changes in repayment for that. On neither call did she identify the financial institution she was calling with.
