This number has been calling me for months while I'm at work. A few times I've answered but not said anything - waiting to hear if there was a human on the other end first. The call would then drop when nothing was said on my end, but I could hear background noise. Tonight I answered. A man said "Hello, is this (my first name)?". I said yes, and he hangs up. This **** me off so I called back - stated that I had just been hung up on and wanted to know who this was. A woman replied asking if I was interested in an extended warranty for my vehicle (she listed the and model of my car). I confirm nothing with her and say no, and I asked her to take me off of their list. She then hung up on me. I called back again. This time another woman answers, immediately knowing who I am by saying "Hello Mrs. (my last name), how are you?". I asked what their company name was, how they received my information, and that they are calling me for. She did not tell me what the company name is, nore how they received my information, only what they were selling. When I did not confirm my car's make and model again she said, "maybe our data is wrong. Is this your car or not?" I asked them to take me off their list. However, I'm fairly certain that not only will they not do that, the primary reason for the call is not to sell anything. Instead I'm pretty sure they are just trying to verify the data they have on people.... **** sucks that they know how to wear people down like this to finally **** inadvertently confirm your name.
