RE: Number 244444: Folks, Google DOES NOT ask you to go to a web link or ask you to verify your number, unless you make a change within Google. I personally had not made any changes, when I received this message telling me to verify my phone number. Normally, google sends a code, when you make a change, not wants you to reply back to a text or click on a link. I'M AN IT PROFESSIONAL, Take my advice, DO NOT CLICK OR REPLY BACK!

they keep saying random things like 4T9J6gVwzRI649709, c3Bobf2jaBc518412, and MEvRo9fCvQk840578 (actual things they said). each time, i responded with “what”.

NEVER EVER reply to anyone you do not know. Doing so, verifies that it could be your account to steal or a real live active number to scam. Take my advice.... STOP REPLYING!

I get verification codes from this text number periodically along with texts that read "Google is verifying your number for chat features" followed by a alphanumeric code. The most recent text read "Your messenger verification code is" followed by an alphanumeric code. These codes do not originate at Google.
