Warranty Extension Fraud (Robocall) reported by


Scam. "Your vehicle warranty has expired. Would you like to speak to someone about this matter before we close our file?" They are operating two scams. One is the "yes" scam where they get you to say "yes" with your voice recorded as a generic authorization to charge bank accounts, credit cards, etc. The second is generic "extended warranty" scam.

Call goes on about extended car warranty, but then asks you "would you like to hear your options?" If you say "yes" they could possibly record your response to use to try to scam you (at a later date) by saying that you agreed to pay for something and play your "yes" as proof.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 25452275xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with vehicle warranty, payday loans, student loans, credit cards - financial management and services. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

I didn't answer the call. I called it back and got a recorded message saying "Did you know you could raise your credit score..." Hung up. Blocked the number.
