Scam (Unsolicited call) reported by

Caller pretenting to be my son, Claimed to have been robbed. Caller requesting I send money, on a gift card no less. I know my sons voice, he certainly doesn't speak with a middle eastern accent.

Male voice called me grandma. I asked his name, he dodged the question. I asked his mother's name, again he dodged. Then I said brightly, " You must be Tommy". He replied brightly

Scammers (Scam call) reported by

Beware. I missed that call, but they left a message. Someone with a heavy accent was trying to get personal information from me by claiming to know me. I know recently we had a LOT of personal data stolen from my bank, from one of my credit cards company and even from the government. They mentioned personal data they couldn't know otherwise, so I know they stole my information or bought it from those who stole it. Tons of people get scammed by phone. Don't answer them or anyone who tries to suddenly get information on the phone from you. If they claim to be a business you do deal with, then tell them you will call back and use the REAL phone number of that business to call back, not the scammers number. This way you'll be sure. Anyway, it's better to go in person than telling information by phone at any time.

Creepy suspicious call (Unsolicited call) reported by

It called me twice on 1pm on a workday. It is marked "potential fraud" on my phone so I let the first call go to voicemail. But then it called again immediately. Out of curiosity I picked up this time. it was silent at first, then I said "hello?" For a few times. A heavy accented male voice shouted back "hello?" A few times, and doesn't seem to hear whatever I said. I asked "what's the matter?" But they just answered with a few more shouts of hello and hanged up on me. Very strange unpleasant voice and call

Identity theft Alert!!! (Scam call) reported by

I got this call last night, which was Sunday at 7:40pm. As soon as I answered, a lady asked me to verify my ss# and she read the last 4 digits; then she said “or you can verify your street address at 123”. So it was disturbing that she knew the last 4 digits of my ss# and my house #. When I asked who is this & what is this regarding, she said a “personal business matter.” So you are calling me at 8pm Sunday night with no name, no title, no business name, no reference, nothing! But you are asking for my ss# or street address. I told her I’m not giving you nothing and this is illegal, she said, “how is this illegal¿” as I was hanging up the phone. She didn’t call me back. Yet.
