Scam company claiming to be Barclay. (Scam call) reported by


Claiming that they were calling and left voicemail about a dispute with a payment, then left another voicemail saying it was about credit card application. Then they called back and I answered already knowing it was a scam as I had already spoken with my bank. They was asking for the name on the caller ID, instead of the person that the phone is assigned to. The family plan has everyone with same caller ID. The person whose name on caller ID isn't valid anymore. So it was obvious scam even before speaking with my bank.

This is a scam call that I have received six times this week. I told them, "If you have an offer or concern with my account, please send it in the mail. If you are legitimate, you have my address." They hung up.

Called stating was from Barclays Financial Services investigating a 4 month overdue payment on a AARP Card that I do not have. Wanted me to give my name and date of birth. Caller would not supply any specifics on the alleged account or info on where they were located (Business Address). I hung up.

called purportedly to followup on credit card application, which while i had applied for recently, so have a ton of people due to promotion in airports, and so a big pool of people to shoot in the dark for...they confirmed my name and asked me to confirm my birthdate, and when i did they hung up.

Barclays calling to ask questions concerning a disputed charge claim I submitted on my account. Legit call. When you answer you will hear an automated message stating the call may be recorded then you will speak with a representative to discuss the dispute on your account.
