They spoke utter nonsense. This behaviour is not apple policy and this is a known scam. I knew it was a scam because I work in the Security industry and am well versed in phishing. I also checked with apple on their policy.

Robo call scammer spoofing the number from the Manhattan Beach Apple Store. I called the number back and it is definitely a boiler room operation with many voices in the background. Definitely a scam.
