Scam call reported by SIA User
This is the other Amazon scam phone number. Called from "Amazon" informing that a pre-approved purchase of a new iPhone was made in my acct. Told me that there were (4) four separate locations that have recently accessed my account, possibly creating a new Amazon account under my name & credit card number for a total cost of $2920.98. They offered to connect me to my credit card company via ph call. The person who I was transferred to, when I asked where they were calling from, couldn't sound out the name of the street properly as any local person to my location would've been able to which made me suspicious of a scam! The call dropped & he called me back from a different area code of 808. When I tried to call them back through this number it couldn't go through as it isn't an actual person or company's phone number. Verizon automated said the phone call cannot be completed. Lots of local 808 mobile numbers that aren't registered to anyone as not in service but used in scams like this one as I called my credit card company and found no new charges of ridiculous amounts, equalling anything close to a new iPhone's retail price! But I will be on watch with my cc# for any disputes!
