Caller claimed he was a public defender in Rhode Island who was defending our son who was "arrested on a DWI" charge - needed $1,500 immediately to post bail before the judge adjourned at noon on a Saturday - it was all false.

As with comments before this number called my elderly grandmother claiming to be a public defender for her "oldest grandson" who had been in a wreck and was in jail and needed $1700 in one hour before arraignment. Luckily my grandmother just took his number and contacted family who told her it was a scam. I called the number and asked to speak to "David" who eventually hung up on me.

Public Defender (Scam call) reported by NoName
This person called my son's grandfather and says that his grandson was in a car accident with cuts to his face but is okay. States that he is a Public Defender (David N) and that the boy was arrested for a DUI charge and is being arraigned in 1 hour. He asked for $1,600 to bail him out but he only has an hour to do so. Total scam. I spoke with the caller and after drilling him with some questions he hung up on me.

This number is for a "David Nelson" who claims to be a public defender and facilitates fraudulent payments to "Bail Bondsmen" to get a relative of a elderly person out of Jail. This a fraud.
