some kind of action against my name, press 1. (Scam call) reported by


answered by some very heavily accented male, couldn't understand his name. Asked me for a reference #. When I said I didn't have one, he asked for my name. When I asked where he was located, he said Maryland. When I asked who he worked for he said Investigations for the social Security Administration. He started balking my questions when I said, I haven't received anything official from SSA about this by mail ... I don't think you are legit because the IRS or SSA would never call and the number wouldn't show up as a scam likely number. I asked for the number of the office so I could research my SSA account and call ... gave this number. 4109658882. The verbal sequencing of the number .. 4109-658882 - obviously not American. When I said phone numbers in the US are said usually as area code then 3 digits then 4 digits. He stammered a bit then changed the 410 to 401.

Automated messaging saying I had committed fraud and needed to press 1 or they would block my cards. Then went through to a human who wanted me to pay a fine.
