pretending to be associated with BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield) (Scam call) reported by DVA
Had a call just yesterday from my real BCBS office located in area code next door, doing a health survey as they normally do. THEN today I receive a call from this local area code and find this number has been noted as offering back pain medication? Odd, that I mentioned to my rep that I did have lower back pain.. I know my insurance company is very high on HIPAA, so they would not give out my number or physical complaints that I listed in our conversation. I called BCBS and they did not recognize this as an official BCBS number and when attempting to redial the number, an answering machines says, "the party you have dialed is not accepting calls at this time," and then goes to busy signal. Reporting to local BCBS, so they can warn policy holders against these type of unsolicited phone calls.

Unsolicited call regarding pain "treatment" that is available because I have Blue Cross and Blue Shield (which I don't). No way to automatically mark myself as a "Do Not Call" so I answered and after telling the guy that I didn't have BCBS, and that I wanted to be added to their do not call, he rudely told me that I should just disconnect the call and not answer it, that it would be easier, and then hung up on me. God help them if they ever call me again...
