Caller left voicemail stating: Hello this is a courtesy call from CVS Caremark calling for (my name). Our records indicate that you are overdue for a prescription refill. Please call us toll-free at 877-766-9481 and enter extension 9487705. I have never used CVS Caremark for prescriptions so this message is false. It might be the type of scam where they get a valid phone number to call them back and enter a code so that they can utilize the valid phone number in some fashion.

I don't normally use CVS because they didn't take my insurance at the time however the one year that I switched, I had foot surgery and the regular Pharmacy that I normally used kept saying I needed a pre-auth for the pain med which would take 2 weeks. We tried 3 different ones with the same reply. After all that time, I was having the surgery the next day with no pain meds, so I called around and CVS would fill it right away, no problem. This was a controlled substance and didn't have a refill about 2 years ago. There is no way that they would call me 2 years later for that. It's not CVS calling, it's a bot making the odds that someone used CVS and needs a refill. Looks like it would target the elderly. Sad!

It originated out of Tennessee phone# (423) 822-2465.

we never told CVS or Caremark that we wanted a presciption filled by them. How would they know my Dr. or drug. This smells to be something else. Do they want my charge card number to bill out other things? People, do not give them any information, I am a retired pharmacist and something is not right.
