Student Loan forgiveness offer (Scam call) reported by

I received a call a couple weeks ago from a man claiming he's with the Federal govt. and I qualified for up to 80% of a Student Loan forgiveness. He was very persistent in the matter and wanted me to give him my Loan ID # which I hesitated and did not provide. I told him he'll have to call me back later, which he did not, until today when I had a missed call. The caller location said "United States". So if someone doesn't double check if it's a scam, they are very persuasive to lead you to believe that they're legitimate. Glad I found these posts.

The woman spoke very poor English, just kept telling me that I had qualified for up to 80% student loan forgiveness if I was no longer in school and was currently employed. Spam
