I spoke with a man who said he was calling from a program that Walgreens has that educates people on the medications they’re taking. He knew my prescription and the date it was prescribed so I felt like it was legit-now I realize it was likely from a data breach Walgreens had about a year ago. He was kind of convincing in that he would mention Walgreens often and the manufacturer of the medication but then went on to “verify my information” and that’s when I asked what the purpose of his call was, he laughed and said that he told me in the beginning lol okay. Then I just told him I don’t need education on my medication, that’s what a doctor and pharmacist are for. He got off the phone and said if I ever needed anything to call my pharmacist basically confirming it was a scam. Anyways, be careful because they do have some of your information and will seem legit but they’re just trying to get more information from you-likely your social or credit card info.

Checking on how I was doing with a new presription I was taking. (Call centre) reported by


Gave me detailed instructions on how to take it and what it was for. Asked if they could call back later to check on how I was doing and then gave me a recording describing the type of medication I was taking and what it does. I believe it was a ligitimate call.

Claimed to have access to my WalGreens' prescription records. Wanted to know whether I needed supplies. Claimed to be a WalGreens employee, that they make calls to customers coz they have different programs they call for. I hung up and called the REAL WalGreens and was informed that it was a scam/phishing.
