Promising Realtors exclusive top ad placement in-market for $110 (Scam call) reported by IdahoREAgent
Recieved the following text message: "Hi my name is Vitaly. I'm looking for a realtor in the Boise area. Found you on Realtor .com. Call me back at 5038820188. Thanks" When I called, no answer, then recieved a call back immediately from "Vitaly." When I asked if he was looking to move into my market, he claimed he wasn't yet another lead generation service, and he's certain I'm tire of hearing from them (I am). He pitched exclusive front-page placement on Google for my market at $110, and to make it enticing, they're offering a first-month buy-one get-one free promotion exclusively for me. When asked about why google would agree to "taking the top 3 or 4 keyword phrases off the market, so your name is the only one that appears on the front page," Vitaly said "because we're a Google Certified Premier Partner." When pressed again as to what's in it for Google to remove the top 3-4 keyword searches from their ad market, which is Google's entire revenue model, he repeated the same thing. Their website looks like it was built in 2003. He asked me to watch a video there of an "Actual Listing Appointment" and it looked like a high-school production. Hard to guess what their angle is once they obtain your billing info, if you're uninformed enough to give in to the Sales 101 pitch.
