Got a call from 509-392-6411. It's a land line in Richland Washington. Saying that I am under investigation for tax evasion, fraud and my physical assess is under siege. Gave an officer name Catherine and a reference number. Yeah let get right on that return call to you buddy. John 6:40

I spoke to several people who had very thick accents. I could hardly understand a word that they were saying, although that claimed that their names were Officer Jaden ... and Officer Michael ...two very American-sounding names. They were very threatening and kept insisting upon receiving money today to show my "good faith" that I was willing to enter into some sort of unspecified settlement arrangement with the IRS. They were asking for all or part of a $5,000 amount. They did have a previous address of mine to which they said that certified letters had been sent. They stated that I had two choices -- (1) go to Washington DC in person with a criminal lawyer or (2) pay them money over the telephone today -- or face immediate arrest, forfeiture of property, seizure of bank accounts, etc. etc. In my opinion, this was clearly a total scam.

Cops don't tell you they are going to arrest you. They come and get you. This is a scam and not the police.

If the FBI or IRS wanted to arrest you I am sure they would have to notify you in writing or simply come to your place and arrest. Highly unlikely that they would leave a "robot" sounding Officer Catherine R. to leave a message. And not identify you by name. I called the # 3 times the first time I asked who they were and it went silent. Called back two more times no answer.
