Received pre-recorded message from caller stating that this is a courtesy call that my car warranty is about to expire and I need to act now to avoid loosing my extended warrantee. No future offers will be available ... this is the last attempt to contact you and your file and warranty is about to be closed. Press # to speak to a representative. At that point I hung up. My car is a 2005 and has been out of warranty for years. I tried to call the number back but got another pre-recorded message that stated "Press # to be added to our do not call list". Don't press any number because you are only verifying that your number is a good number and they will continue to call. You will still continue to receive calls for about a month or so and then they will stop as long as you don't respond. I find that when ever I go to our local car dealership, these calls will start up. They sell your phone number to these scammers. They do not mention any company name!

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call center. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Payday loans call center from Texas - Austin, block it if not interested. I have been using the ShouldIAnswer mobile application from these pages, works fine, can stop such calls and also a range of numbers (very useful for call centers). No problems.
