They claimed they have my credit card number, asked for B-date (Scam call) reported by


This has to be a scam. They claimed that I had some magazines and the renewal will go into effect at midnight for $79.95 and will be charged on my Credit card. on file. I've told them I never made such an order and asked them what card do they have on file, that's when they asked for my birth date in order to access my subscription. I told them I won't give it to them, and got into an argument asking them to cancel whatever they're claiming...and hung up. My wife called them back to handle it nicely and unfortunately gave them my B-date (that's another story), then told them no one signed up for the service and asked them to cancel the subscription as it is fraud. They said they'll pass on the request to the fraud department and get back to us in 24 hours :/ We'll see if they call back and ask for an updated Credict card as Mr. Cash reported above.

I just received a call from this number. I assume it is a randomized number to prevent finding the real caller. However, in the event you come here for the same reason. If you call it back, you receive a Message stating "All Circuits are busy". When speaking with the individual: Me: This is *****. Caller: Hello, how are you? Me: I'm good, how are you? Caller: Wow, I'm not used to being asked how I'm doing, but I am doing fine. I'm calling today about your (I couldn't understand the business name) Magazine Subscription at (Listed my correct address). Me: I do not carry a subscription with any magazines as they have all expired or I cancelled them. Caller: Thank you for letting me know this, because I see here that your automatic renewal was scheduled for tonight. What I can do, is make the mark on the account that you wish to cancel further renewal and also stop calls from me in the future. Me. That would be appreciated. Caller: So, I wanted to confirm some information that we have on file. Is (my address) still correct? Me: Yes it is. What is the name of the Company? Caller: The subscription could have been for any number of magazines...(He listed about 6 different random magazine names). Now, I see here that you used a Visa to originally subscribe to the magazine subscription. Is the card on file still correct? Me: No it is not. Caller: Well I will be discounting the renewal price that was scheduled for tonight and also split it up int smaller payments.......but in order to do so, I will need an updated card That's when I decided to just hang up. They only had my name and mailing address. They used the word Visa, but did not state the last 4 or any identifying information. My advice is stay away and if you want to play along, insist they send any requests in writing to your address and then you do some research.
