As reported below - I am selling a vehicle on a popular site by a guy named Craig, and this number contacted me and requested a report from LookUpVin.com. I had never heard of it, so I researched the site and found reports of scamming texts. I then researched the number that texted me and found this. DO NOT USE LOOKUPVIN.COM.

vehicle listed on craig list and you get a text from them saying if you provide vehicle report they will come and make deals but they are just trying to make you spend money on lookupvin.com

Scam for money (Scam call) reported by Kim
Listed a vehicle on Craig's list and got a text message from this number telling me his mechanic wants to see a vehicle history then asking me to go to lookupvin.com & of course I have to pay for the report (NOT). So I googled the number and found out the scam.

Posting a car for sale on craigslist and recieved a text from 513.457.7602 stating they liked the car and price, and if I went to www.lookupvin.com and had a clean report they would be interested in buying the car. Went to the site and of course, it asks for money. Quick google search later and I find that it is indeed a scam.

Looks like lookupvin.com scam (Scam call) reported by Ran
I put my car add for selling and someone text me from this number as interested buyer and asked me for the lookupvin.com report and mentioned if the report is clean they will buy the car. So, I pulled the report spending around $22 and when I tried to share the report this number is not enabled to receive attachments. So, i left several msgs asking for other numbers to share the report, but no one replied. So, when I verified online about lookupvin.com, many people complained about this scam. so, it is possible whoever is texting from this number might be a scammer

Exact same thing from the exact same number happened to me. This is a scam. Thankfully It seemed fishy to me when someone requests a specific place to get a history report from so I googled it. Within 2 minutes I realized this is a scam.
