Wanting $ for a loan I never took out (Debt collector) reported by


I received a very threatening vm today from a G. F. or Allen. I called the number back to see what they wanted and spoke with a young sounded man whose last name was J.. They claimed that I took out a payday loan (couldn't give me an exact company name, date or original amount) and that their client is wanting to take me to court. They said that this alleged loan was tied to my bank account and that I authorized for them to electronically take funds from that bank account. They had correct info on me (address, name of bank account) but it was from 7 years ago! He asked me why I closed my bank account and I told him that someone had gotten my account number and made fraudulent charges. It had already happened to this account before so I just closed it and opened a new one at another bank. I told him that I never took out a loan so if he really is honestly trying to collect on a debt then it must've been taken out by someone else using my info. He asked me if I made a police report and I told him no, being that this is the first I'm hearing of any debt. He said that letters were sent to my old address and I told him that's awesome, but I haven't lived there in 7 years so how would I know. He eventually ran out of things to say other than this: "the good news is that you don't need to worry about the loan anymore because my client is willing to settle out of court for a restitution of $1,066. Otherwise they will be proceeding with a lawsuit and you will not only have to pay the restitution but any and all court/attorney fees". I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard. I told this scared little boy who was obviously reading from his little script that I will see them in court and if that day comes, they better have original loan documents with dates, amounts and my signature or they will be laughed out of the room. I ended the call by wishing him luck on collecting non-existing debts and never to call me again.

Just received a call from this company with a different phone number 860-207-8531. Conversation went about the same talking about Direct Loan and named many many companies regarding payday loans. I have never taken out a payday loan and advised them of this. They said that the loan originated in 2008 and gave me the address that I lived in at that time. This company said that they were a mediation company and did not know the originating company name that this loan was originated from. I asked for them to send me all information regarding this so called loan and they advised me that they did not have that information and they were only a mediation company. The call ended with me telling them I would see them in court.

They implied that I owed money to the company they were representing but wanted to cut me a deal . They never asked for my current info only the past did not seem legitimate didn't even ask when I would try to call them back for a resolution

Recorded message IMPLIED I was subject to impending lawsuit, without actually saying so. Thus the scamster stays withjin letter of the law while violating its spirit. Same methodology as previous calls from same building/city; they want $500 to "settle" a debt I do not owe. This time I did not call back.

7/17/17. Got the exact same call Have been getting similar calls from all different numbers and names. I never answer but they leave voicemails. Scams. How can we stop this bs?

Said I had a case against me and if they did not hear from me of my attorney. They were going to document that I waived my rights to counsel. We do not have ant collection outstanding.

I just had the exact same phone call and they had all of my information

They had all of my information including where I worked in 2008 including where I live, my job, my bank and why i left my bank. The guy on the phone was crazy rude and hung up on me for saying I was combative and wanted more information out of me. He said that I was refusing to make a payment. We never discussed any payment of any sort and said I will need an attorney and will go to court. Said I took out a cash advance from a pay day place and never paid it back which I have never taken out a loan ever in my life.

Grace insisted I pay $500 as a settlement for a $1000+ loan that I know I never took out. She could not provide me a location or date of loan. Her date ranges were anywhere between 2008 and 2012 and that the loan was from 500-800 dollars. When I questioned the amounts she said well it could be from $300 - $800. All red flags, not having a file to give real data. She threatened I would have to go to court and pay all attorney fees and I said I would see them in court then and she hung up. A professional agency would not just hang up the phone like that.

Very interesting I got the exact same phone call today that all my late fees would be $1200+ but I got 24 hours to pay $500 to settle out of court. They almost had me because I thought maybe I did have an old one but I told her that it would of been on my credit report but she said that it isnt a credit and its on my background. Im glad I talked to my wife she told me it was a scam! Watch out and block this number!

advised I owed money to a pay day company and they have been trying to contact me sine 2008 and 2012. at the wrong number and address. Also couldn't tell me what pay day loan company it was. I did have loans at one point but they are all paid.
