Robocall, claiming to be from Advanis Market Research company (https://www.advanis.net/), conducting a survey for tellcityhall.ca. I did not pick up, so just have the introductory robocall message saved to voicemail. Advanis looks like they may be a legitimate marketing research firm, conducting legitimate surveys. Nonetheless, Robocalls are very annoying, especially when they leave truncated messages on voicemail. It is also very difficult for people to distinguish "legitimate" robocall message from scam ones, in the moment. So it is most prudent to just assume all robocalls are scams. According to the tellcityhall.ca website, you can opt out of future calls: "Just send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Opt Out". In the email, please provide your phone number so that we can identify you in our database. Alternatively, you can leave a voicemail message that you would like to opt out by calling our toll-free number 1-888-883-7094." If you answer one of their calls, apparently you can also opt out by pressing 9 while you are on the call. The voicemail message I received contained instructions to do this, but obviously it does not work over voicemail. I cannot vouch for any of the opt-out methods they have described.
