This is the Phoenix Police Department non emergency line. Unfortunately in the US phone numbers are often spoofed or "faked" which likely leads to many scammers calling people out of this number. I received a strange call from Phoenix PD and I wasn't sure what was going on, but they explained to me that they had evidence that could put me away, unless I pay them through Western Union. I refused to pay them and they said they would have to issue a warrant for my arrest. I thought it was strange I was sending money through Western Union...

Did they say they were an officer and gave you a badge number? My call said he was an officer and gave me his badge number and said he wanted me to come down to their station and answer questions

They asked me to pay 1300 dollars or I would face charges for things I didn't even do. He was very persistent on the payment. Police don't accept remote payments so when he asked me to use zelle or apple pay and gave me a personal email and phone number, it was evident that it was a scam.

Dude called claiming to be an officer, said they had evidence of me committing a crime. I told him I'd like to come to the station to speak to him in person, he told me that I needed to be at the courthouse tomorrow at 10AM (which would be a Saturday). Do not fall for this, there is no way an actual officer would conduct themselves this way.

Guy called saying he was officer so and so. I could hear TV in the background. He started saying the police had all kinds of evidence against me for a crime. When I asked where he was from he got very beiligerant and yelling profanities.

They accused me of treacherous, heinous , and licit activitities. (Nuisance call) reported by


After the accusations I was told I had told I Must immediately pay $2900 through western union money gram or they were going to be sending "units" to arrest me and hold me for these supposed charges until this case was brought to court. Also they didn't fail to dramaticalay mention how long that could take. They also told me that if I didn't immediately pay they would broadcast publicly that I "AM a child sex offender "?!?!? Which I am not nor have I ever been!! I was yelled at for seeking information on the subject. I was belittled when mentioning grounds for court action against them. Mainly, They harassed me almost to the point of tears which at this point I felt so helpless and hopeless (TOWARDS A SITUATION I KNOW I AM NOT GUILTY OF MIND YOU) that the only way to save my freedom was to take my own life. I mentioned this and they had no cares unless money was involved. This all came from 2-4 coupled text messages and a phone call to who i thought was an old friend I met while working my last sales job. I could not pay so I have been waiting in agony Since 10 am for my arresting party to unfairly take away my freedom. I don't know what to think. I labeled it a scam but your website states it is Surely PHX PD. If this is case i am truly afraid for not only myself but other citizens in line for unfair punishments handed out with a vulgar display of power acted out by the ones seen fit to protect and serve our citizens.
