They wanted me to call an 800 number about an important matter. I do not have an account with them.

I believe it is actually Comenity bank (Meijer credit card). I have an account with them, but when I called the number, they asked for the last four digits of my SSN after saying "we have identified your account with your phone number." Yeah, I'm not providing that information over a phone call.
