A woman called my husband from an unavailable number. She had a thick foreign accent and said she was calling from DC government. She said she was offering him a grant for $7900 and gave him a number to call and ask for a man named Eric Brown and to give him a code that she provided to my husband. We knew this was a scam, but we played along to see if we could get information from them to report them to the police. Before we had the chance to call the number she gave him, she had called us back. This time I answered, she immediately said did you call the number, that's when I said did you call my husband and offer him $7900 from the government? She hung up very quickly! So I then called the number she gave my husband. After I gave the man the code, he said I need you to call back tomorrow morning because it will take him 20 to 40 mins to use the database. I acted disappointed and said that I really wanted to get the money now. That's when he got angry and shouted 'if you want the money then you call back tomorrow morning, if you don't want it then don't call back!' This is when I got very angry and called him out, he ended up hanging up. I called the police but they said because I didn't give them any personal information then there wasn't anything that could be done. I just hope nobody falls for this scam!

The lady just called me, I played along. I questioned her about how fishy it would be to collect that amout of cash fom WU. Her tone then got aggressive. She told me I should call some guy several times to release the funds. I cracked up after saying goodbye. That's when I found this site. Lots of crooks out there, be aware folks.

Offering Government Grant money. After checking it out here, I didn't go any further with it. They wanted me to call a Sam Redmond and give them an ID number, which they provided me over the phone.

they wanted me to go to money gram and pay $250 to receive $6750 in Grant money ,,they hung up on me when I said send me the money first and I'll pay you the 250 dollars with that money ..the man hung up .so it's a total scam to good to belive .why can't they put this people in jail when the track the number how many people in our state have been used and ripped off !!!! wow the government needs to know about this it's crazy

Caller told me to call a Mark Vordon a supposed accountant to release Federal Grant money to me at 646 712 8126. Didn't feel right so I looked up the number Glad I didn't call there!
