Called from +1(646)8573388 (Telemarketer) reported by

Said she’s from WSJ, new my name,, I didn’t let her continue and it all sounded dodgy so I immediately asked for my number and details to be removed from the calling list, she said ‘no worries I understand ‘ but I repeated again to remove me from the calling list and I hung up. I have no business with these people and no idea how they have my number, have blocked this number and advise others not to answer and block number . Take care .

Fishing for investers (Financial services) reported by

Knew my name and email address. Number ID from New York. Claimed to be calling from the Financial Times. Asked questions about my investments, who makes investment decisions, how much I would invest, what my job is, how old I am, then claimed to be finished. Then asked my favourite colour and make of car I drive around Australia. Kept reassuring me they were not looking to get me to invest at this time. Was just weird. Never normally answer these calls, but for some reason picked it up.

Survey (Financial services) reported by

New York caller ID calling New Zealand. Knew my first name, asked for surname, job title, age (complemented my young sounding voice), investments, how much I think would be required to invest here, car make. She sounded Phillipino but was polite but definitely seems fishy. Financial Times survey was her claim and that someone would call me to follow up and they would send info although they didn't ask for my email address. They could have sourced this info from LinkedIn.

I received similar unsolicited call from a voice that sounds Phillipino Via +1-646-757-1588 last week and another call this morning . She identified as a caller from Financial Times in US. She claimed she was taking a Survey on my Investment, age and all bio-data. For whatever reason, i feel this is Strange and threated as SCAM!!!

Financial Times Called (Unsolicited call) reported by

I answered the phone and a lady asked for me by name. I asked who was calling and she said she was calling from the Financial Times. Again she asked for me and I responded that I was no longer there. She then hung up. Will block this caller as potential scam call.

Wall St Journal Market research (Financial services) reported by

Said he was doing market research and then asked what was my favourite colour. Asked if I was employed and when I said retired tried to find out my age, using flattery. He then put a "supervisor" on who asked a couple of the same questions and confirmed my email address which they had from some "partner" The supervisor said an associate would call me despite me saying I am not interested in investing. The whole thing sounded suspicious.

Pretended to be WSJ, ended call when I asked who he was calling. (Scam call) reported by

This appears to be some type of identity fraud scam or perhaps making money by getting people to return their call. It is possible they are phishing their potential victims' details from the internet. The number they rang was recently listed as a business number on an online directory.

Scam call to get financial information (Financial services) reported by

Asks a out your investments. Local/Foreign. Your age even the car you drive. If a good opportunity came up would you invest. I told them I invest heavily in oil, gas and gold, drive a Porsche and would never invest less than 100k if I saw a good opportunity:)

Claimed to call from Wall Street Journal (Financial services) reported by

Claimed to call from WSJ to make a survey about the financial wellbeing in Denmark (!). Told I was on my way to a meeting, and whether she had my email adress as well. She did and I asked the woman to send the questions by email. She pushed and told that she had just five questions. I ended the call. Never heard from the person again....

Claimed to be Wall Street Journal with investment scheme (Telemarketer) reported by

I got this call in Australia - person said they represent Wall Street Journal, with caller id from NY - offering to be sent info on an investment, no details given. They obviously had my number and also my email address and said they will send more info by email and a follow-up call to come. After seeing the comments here I won't be taking call (alreadt blocked) or opening email. I gave no other personal details to the person.

Just Yvonne

I also had a call today from Wall Street journal. Asked how they got my email and they said they have lots of contacts through stock markets etc. Suggested I had stocks or shares but fortunately I said I had no idea, my husband dealt with all that. So pleased I didn't give out anything else now I have read a number of reviews.

Connects to other callers (Telemarketer) reported by

Claim to be WSJ Economical research team, but with no information about their background. For some reason they had my phone number and email without my consent. They want to connect me to other "financial service" partners that will contact me later. Most likely first caller hookers, that connect people (victims) to other groups doing investment scams

Want to send research and solicit investments. Claim to be WSJ (Financial services) reported by

Company wants to know if you are an investor in your home country and or abroad. They will supply free research and their "partners" will follow up to speak about and answer questions relating to the investment opportunity. They claim to be the Wall Street Journal, but all have strong foreign accents. Surely a scam.
