I emailed google and this is not google calling it is a scam. They confirm cell numbers by text and lan lines through the provider! Google will only ever contact you through e-mail. If you gave them your info enjoy a few years of identity theft!

Caller stated he was from Google Maps, verifying my business is open. I have received calls from Google (Google Ads, Google Business, Google Guaranteed) and the calls always come in with clear caller id information. This is not Google.

Caller did not speak English so I hung up and blocked the number. If it is Google, they should have enough courtesy to use people who speak English to place their calls to English speaking countries.

Someone called my work, claiming to be from Google Maps, wanting to know our hours. I give that info out to customers daily anyway, so I told her. Ended the call after that, however, since it felt sketchy.

The number called our work number and left two silent long voicemails. After reading the comments above though it would make sense if it's google calling to confirm our business phone number because we just updated it on Google. So I don't know if it's necessarily scammy but weird that they didn't leave a legitimate voicemail.

Got a call from them at my work. She said she is from google maps and wanted to confirm my hours. On the caller ID is said Spam on it. Google shouldn't be calling. Usually we have communicate via email. Don't ever confirm anything over the phone.
