I first got a call from a number in my area code, then received a text from a short code number telling me to call this number. Called it; spoke with a representative who knew my name and information and attempted to interview me over the phone for a job. the area code is for california. this is a huge scam.

I received a text message from an automated text service requesting I call the number regarding a job application I submitted. That threw up a red flag as that is not the appropriate protocol to reach a job applicant - especially since I don't provide authorization for jobs to text me. Did not call back because I don't trust it. Legitimate companies will call/email you, not request that you call them.
