Received a robo-call from these scammers. It's an automated system that reads a script, asks for a donation, and pretends to be a real person. The system is programmed to get you to say "yes", which of course they record, and then use as a basis to demand that you honor your "gift" (there's even been cases where scammers like this argue that your "yes" is a legal contract, and start collection actions against you if you don't pay). Calls appear to be coming out of Colorado. The caller indicates that donations will go to support local law enforcement.... that's an absolute lie (if you doubt me, call your local police agency or sheriff's department - they know nothing about this organization and have NEVER received any support from them). This is clearly a SCAM. There is a "Law Enforcement Coalition run by the "Americans for Law Enforcement PAC" (Washington DC). Not sure if these telephone calls are being made on behalf of this organization, or if it's just someone hijacking the name. Report calls from these people to your local police, and to your State's Attorney Generals office.

Caller ID showed LAWENFCOL. Caller identified he was calling for the Law Enforcement Coalition and was asking for a donation. I asked him what percentage of my donation would be used for the cause versus paying their overhead expenses. I guess he didn't like my question because he hung up without giving me an answer!
