Seven calls from this number came through in less than 10 minutes. At first I did not answer and a recording would leave a message "This is from Citibank, if you are expecting this call please press #" and also "the verification could not go through". So I answered on the fourth call but the same thing would happen the recording would come on. I did not press pound because that was a red flag to me, instead I called citibank directly and it turned out that my husband was attempting to make a purchase that some of citibank's clients had reported as fraud. Not a good way of attempting to verify a transaction. What happened to the personal touch. I will no longer use citibank credit card. Their methods are too similar to the scam artist's.
