I answered the call and a man with a heavy Indian accent told me he was calling from Microsoft and they are receiving error messages from my computer. I've heard about these calls so I thought I'd lead him on. He had me do a couple of things on my computer, and brought me to a Event Viewer dialog box. Then instructed me to do something I didn't understand. So, he put someone else on the phone who said he was so-n-so from Verizon (they need to get their stories straight). And instructed me to go to the run dialog box and type in www.teamviewer.com and hit enter. At that point I said no, I'm not doing that and hung up. He called back and said we must have gotten disconnected. I said no, I told you I wasn't doing that. He then proceeded to cuss me up and down, and I hung up again.

Claimed they received a ping that my computer was being hacked and they could help me to fix it. (insert eye roll here) So I told the guy that I knew this was a scam and he is a horrible person for trying to scam innocent people. Then I hung up.
