Automatic renewal of a subscription I don't even have (Scam call) reported by


Caller asked for a cancellation code to stop a $150 automatic renewal of a subscription for an HP Computer warranty. When I told him I no longer own that computer and never subscribed to a warranty for it, he quickly said he works with "every computer manufacturer" and still needed the cancellation code or I would be billed. When I asked him where I would get the code, he told me to go to a computer and he would talk me through how to find it. That's when I ended the call.

Yes, that's exactly what I was told. Call them and pay the $150 automatic renewal of a subscription I never had in the first place.

They said my HP subscription (that I didn't have) was about to auto renew for $150 and do I want to cancel. I said yes they asked for 9 digit code from my pc. I knew it was a scam and hung up. I also reported this number to HP
