WOMAN SAID SHE WAS WITH CAPITAL ONE FRAUD DEPARTMENT. I GAVE MY CASE NUMBER.THEN SHE WAS ASKING ME ALL SORT OF PERSONAL INFORMATION AND CARD NUMBER REGARDING THE FRAUDULENT CHARGES THAT I HAVE REPORTED ALREADY TO CAPITAL ONE. I BECAME SUSPICIOUS AND I HANGED UP. I THEN CALLED CAPITAL ONE NUMBER AT THE BACK OF MY CARD. CAPITAL ONE DOES NOT CALL CUSTOMERS. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!! THEY WANT TO GET NEW NUMBERS OF YOUR NEWLY ISSUED CARD AND OTHER PERSONAL AND SENSITIVE INFORMATION. BEWARE!!! DO NOT ANSWER!!!

These people are scammers. I got this as a voicemail. “This message is for _****_****_****_****_****_ _****_****_****_****_****_****_ this is Billy calling from capital one fraud department in reference to your recent claim we are investigating your claim just need to return our call at your earliest convenience you can reach us at 1-800-215-1921 we're available 8 AM to 8 PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday thank you for choosing Capital one and have a great day…” Sounded legit. I called them back and it sounded legit until I pressed the numbers and got a real person. They immediately asked me for a case number. (Which I didn't have) then of course they asked me for my full card number. I hung up and called the real capital one and they verified it was a scam.

Absolute scam artists. They aren't solving anyone's problems, they are creating them. I've been mailed several letters... They are all scam letters. The front is wrong... The microprinting is all blurry... The capital one swoosh was printed by way of deskjet, not laser like any sort of real letterhead. They had a "case number", but when I called asked me if I was comfortable GIVING them my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO LOOK UP MY ACCOUNT!!! SO OBVIOUS. And the girl on the line? Sounded just like a sweet down to Earth next door type of girl. The EXACT type of person that would make a good scammer. Well? Takes one to know one. They are LYING TO YOU. DO NOT ANSWER. DO NOT CALL. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MORE INFO THAN WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY. THEY CAN ALL GO F#@K THEMSELVES!!! THEY WILL BURN IN HELL!!!

In the voicemail caller said they were from Capital One Fraud Dept. I called the number on the back of my credit card to verify and was told that Capital One does not call their customers.
