Does not leave message, answered once but told they were contracted by IRS and wanted back taxes from 17 yrs ago! I paid my taxes and got a refund, why would a collection agency be contracted by the IRS to collect now from 17 yrs ago? Total scam. Irs cannot collect after 10 yrs and would have sent letter before now if the refund was not right.

Said they were calling on behalf of the IRS. Would not give me anymore information unless I verified MY OWN information. When did the IRS use a collection agency? We don’t owe any back taxes.

I just click the answer and lay the phone down or lay it next to my Google Mini as it is playing music or the daily news. No skin off my back. BTW, they keep calling, I've told them to remove me from their calling list. I only owe a couple hundred in back taxes and they tell me it has to be over $10K. So why do they keep calling. I'm gonna play their game.

first off if it is CBE Group then the Caller ID should use CBE Group. I did receive something in the mail from them once or twice. The only reason I owe any IRS Debt is a took my Retirement out early because of Hardship after I lost my job do to a work injury and due to a mishap with FMLA paperwork while off injured from work I had my appendix removed. I got screwed because I hurt my neck and shoulder twice once in 2005 and then again in 2012 which was a whiplash concussion. The IRS Can't collect on the debt so they got tired and sent in these bozos. You should not get taxed on funds you take out due to hardship.
