Windows support tech, said they had been monitoring our computer and want me to get on the computer. That's when I ask for his contact number and hung up.

This call came from a call center and a male with Indian identified himself as Windows Technical Support. He said my computer was about to be attacked and he wanted my computer license security ID #. Wanted me to get in front of my computer and he would walk me through what I needed to do. I told him I would contact Windows Tech Support and he wanted a time where I would be in front of my computer and he would call me back---not. Have older computer but have not had any problems. This guy also gave me a long number that he said was my computer License security ID but he could not tell me what Operation System I had. Stay away from this guy.

Call Center background noise- Indian accent- trouble understanding- said my windows PC sent an email to her that I required technical support, and that she is a Microsoft Authorized Service provider. When asked if she also served Apple products she said yes. She did not know whether the email message was from my MAC or from my DELL! This is one to avoid!

Said he was from a company called Windows Mac Intoss Solutions, based at 215 Main Street, Cleveland, OH. Sounded like the call center was based in India because of the accents of the two people who came on the line. My caller i.d. indicated the caller was Randy Cowan with a 517 area code. Calling to tell me something was attacking my computer and he would walk me through fixing it. A most obvious scam.

Heavily accented man said my computer was sending error messages to his server. He could fix it. Sounded like a phishing scam.
