Computer voices claiming to be collecting for IUPT (Robocall) reported by


Two computer voices, first "male", then "female", asking for credit card information. I asked for mail, as I don't give out cards. Clever word recognition programming. Possible scam. I would rather take money directly to my local police office so they get it all. The program could not respond when I asked "how long have you been doing ghid work?". When I asked "Is this a computer?" I got something like "Yes, this is a live computer operator" ! Maybe an inexpensive way to get donations, but where does the money actually go?

585 391 4115 National Police Troopers (Telemarketer) reported by


Called from 585 391 4115, asked for me by my name, which is not the name on my phone. I always ask who is calling, he's rushing and pushy, speaking too fast to write it down, I get he's from National Police Troopers. I ask how he got this number and he gets testy, something about 3rd party, he spits out an 800 number, I ask him to slow down so I can write it, I get 800-247-4872. I start to ask what National Police Troopers is, as I have friends who are State Troopers and police, he hangs up.

I've received several calls from an organization calling on behalf of the NPTA begging money for training and life insurance. I have to tell you only pennies on the dollar actually make it to the NPTA. If you want to make a difference contact your state legislator and support increased funding before you give these low life telemarketers any more money. They don't even employee people to make these harassing calls. Now they use a pre recorded Bot to make the calls. They contact hundred of thousands of numbers each and every day. Even with a low percentage of "supporters" they rake in loads of money. Again only pennies on the dollar ever make it the NPTA. NPTA take a stand and stop accepting this dirty money.

Robocall asking for donations - fake IUPA claims (Scam call) reported by


I have recieved 2 calls this month from the same company, National Police & Trooper Association. The first time I asked for a webpage to verify who they were. There was a pause then they hung up. On the second call I asked for the same thing but used different words. This time it became obvious that this was a robot speaking and he gave me this website: www.nptadonations.org. Then the robot said, "Thank you. Have a nice day." and hung up. I checked the website and it was very very basic and it referenced IUPA (International Union of Police). The contact page also had the same address as IUPA (1549 Ringling Blvd, 6th Floor Sarasota, FL 34236) and phone number (1-800-247-4872). I checked the BBB and there are numerous complaints about the NPTA and scam issues. Also, NPTA uses IUPA's address and phone number in the BBB listing. I called the phone number and spoke with a lady who said the NPTA is part of IUPA and they are legitimate. She offered to let me speak to someone in donor funding. I declined and let her know of the numerous negative comments I have read. Not sure what is going on. I wasn't convinced either way so just left it alone.
