Got a call, decided to answer it. Robot started speaking immediately before I even put the phone to my ear. Said there was suspicious activity on my Apple account and to not use any of my Apple devices until I called the number, and to especially not put any financial information into any of my devices until I called. I called on my work phone just for giggles, knowing it was scam, and as soon as I dial the number, it hangs up, no ring or anything. Tried again just for fun and it did the same thing- no ring, just an immediate disconnect. Funny how they say to call back that number to get assistance but then the number doesn't work. Dummies.

Spoofing an Apple service phone number 800-275-2273: U.S. iPod, Mac and iPad technical support Since I only have one of those, I don't have a conversation with Apple on them, they called twice and only left a three second blank message, that all screams scam, phishing, fraud, or other criminal activity. Point of note as an IT Security Manager, Apple does not initiate calls to anyone, they only respond to requests.

I immediately recognized this as a scam similar to the one saying they are from Microsoft and they need for you to give them permission to access your system. I didn't give hime a chance to scam me and ask for permissions to manage my product. I just went off on him and he hung up. Double obvious since I do not own any apple products.
