Received call from "Intuit Pro" named "John Bradshaw" with thick accent trying to correct my error code of 404. When starting to become leery of him, asked him to send me an email regarding this error & requested his phone number to call him back. He said, "Do I send it to xxxxxxx.com?". BUSTED! It was not my direct email address that Quickbooks does have. When googling the phone number, here is where I got the confirmation to my doubts. SCAM.

Received a call from Intuit Pro. We had been having issues the week prior so I answered. He said he had spoken to a senior partner at my firm, which I know was untrue. I said I needed to discuss with our head of IT and took his number, Googled it, and it lead me here. It's a scam. They're trying to access account info.

Peter Curtis (very thick foreign accent) knew my name, title and Company. Stated I was not getting full updates on my quickbooks due to error codes. He was very knowledgeable about different functions and where do get information on my QB. The logs did show errors. Then wanted me to go to LOGMEIN website which is a remote server. I told him nope and to send me an email with all this information. Think he was trying to get into our company & to hijack our computer. I'll update if I actually get an email.

Intuit QB's - "Error" Call (Scam call) reported by


Tom Foster (middle eastern accent) called saying an update had failed and they were receiving an error code 502. I asked why he would get notice and I hadn't. He directs me to a window that shows an error reading. Wanted to put me in touch with additional customer service so they can "fix the problem" by logging into my computer. I told him I had to call him back. This was the number he provided.

A guy called the office saying he was with Intuit and we were getting a code 502. He wanted to walk me through the steps. I told him it was not possible at this time. Got name, phone number and extension (Peter Curtis-had foreign accent). I asked exactly what the code meant and he said data backup was not right so I wasn't getting updates. Also that I needed to call back and take care of this as soon as possible so he could help me resolve the issue. I hung up and googled number. Good to know I was wise to listen to my instincts.

I had the same experience as the rest of the users...a man identifying himself as Lucas advised he was calling from Intuit and that they were receiving critical errors from the QB. I was immediately wary, but walked thru some of the instructions he gave me identifying the errors on my QB...I asked him how I could know he was actually from Intuit and said "how would I know was error messages you're encountering?" I then asked Lucas for his badge ID and a call back number in case we were disconnected. He said I could call that number, but I would end up in a long queue instead of a direct line... I immediately Googled the number and found these reports.

I told them that i was already had an open case with customer support and they switched me to 3 different people and each time i had to tell them what issues i was having. they asked me for the case number and i still had to explain. I finally got mad and told them i needed to have my IT guy present and i would call them back when that was possible.

So they got me! I was so weary the whole time I was on the phone with this guy but we were actually having issues with QB at the time so everything just seemed to fit. I tried 'googling' this number but at that time there wasn't feedback like there is now. They logged onto my computer installed a cloud version of QB .19 and then was able to gain access to all kinds of information on ALL 4 of my computers. On top of that they we had 3 withdrawals from our bank account that luckily will be taken care of by our bank. BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!

Well I did not talk to him yesterday, then he said he talked to someone else then, wrong again Lucas I am the only one sorry. he said he was trying to send me an update and kept getting a 404 error message wrong again Lucas! not today satan not today!!! he called from 800-276-7142.

QB ERROR 404 SCAM! (Scam call) reported by


Indian guy by the of "Peter Curtis" called into my office claiming he was with Quickbooks and that they had been receiving critical service errors from my computer. My instincts immediately kicked in. He was sly enough to sway me temporarily to walk me through where I could see the error (after Google research, found this to be a common error for Online QB users), but then tried to walk me through the steps to let him remote in to fix the error & that's when I told him (more or less laughed his **** of the phone) that he was CRAZY if he thought I so stupid as to let that happen and that's when he gave me this # and then hung up. FYI...if you call that #, they do have people answering it! Thank God for Google and this website! Be smart and be vigilant people!

Man named Lucas said they were Quickbooks Pro Support and they received notification that our recent update caused a 404 error message when I tried to update Quickbooks which I coincidentally updated yesterday. He had me verify that one of my Quickbooks services had been stopped. When he directed me to logmein, my SCAM senses started tingling. I told them I needed him to call my direct line, so I could see his caller ID. They hung up, then called back immediately and said we were disconnected. I told them to give me a number I could call back directly which led me to here. DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE! TELL THEM TO FUDGE OFF AND FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR LIVES.

Call from "Intuit Pro" trying to access my Quickbooks!! (Scam call) reported by


I got a call from "Intuit Pro" 347-474-66xx today and they said that my Quicksbooks/Intuit update had failed with code 404, and they needed access to my computer to help me fix it. They directed me to www.support.me (logmein.com) and gave me to let them access. I did not do this, and instead made an excuse to get off the phone. I called QB/Intuit yesterday about this and they verified they DO NOT CALL customers to get access EVER, so I know this is a scam. The scammers also called 2 times last week to do the same thing, but I was unavailable. The phone number he wants me to call back today, to get access to my computer, is 800-276-71xx and he says he is Jason with QB/Intuit Pro.
