I won't speak for banks, as I don't work for one. However, the federal government in Canada absolutely makes phone calls to clients, as well as sending letters.

Jn August 28, 2019 at 10:40 am I got the same robo call voice saying the same about my sin plus to press #1 after the call ... so that I did which was perhaps so stupid.

I just received two calls myself...one sounded legit as they did both languages but wanted me to choose which one, I did not as Canada Pension does not have my cell number....the second was the robo call with the same message as Kason. This was a short while ago

I work at the Service Canada call center, but when we call people this number should NOT be the one that shows up as we all have our own business lines. This is the correct phone number to call SC, but you should NOT be receiving calls from this number.

Automated robot saying if I dont call the magistrate will have federal criminal charges. I BLOCKED this number on my Phone right away. They still called TWO more times and were able to leave identical VM -but my phone never rand and I never missed a call.

This automated voicemail left on my phone stating I needed to press 1 to speak to an officer about a presidential matter before appearing to the courts or I would be arrested.
