Just got a call from 1-800-279-9301. Wanted to say welcome and congrats on my purchase of a car. It is a legit number. Upadted my e-mail with them and got a notifiaction on the Wells Fargo app that my contact info was updated. So, it is a legit number.

Answered the call and spoke with Braden, he was calling to comfrim the information for the loan was correct and to answer any questions I may have had. his first comment was to inform me this call was just to varify the information was correct and that there was nothing wrong with the loan. Also to ask if I had any additional questions about payment options, payment centers (there bank locations) and if I understand the Gap insurance. I have had an auto loan with well Fargo before and received the same call prior. It's a legit employee of Well Fargo. Wells Fargo will also send a letter prior to them calling. In the letter it stated to expect a call to provide and verify information.

They just called me. Claimed to be Wells Fargo Auto...wanting to give me a welcome call for my new auto loan. I did buy a car recently and they are the financier. Lady spoke broken english and wanted to confirm my information before we could proceed. I told her I wouldn't confirm anything or give her any of my information as I had no idea who she truly was. She became upset and began reading off some form letter nonsense and I hung up. If this is legitimately coming from Wells Fargo...they should be smart enough to not initiate the call then ask for a bunch of personal information.

I didn't answer the call initially. I called the number back, and although the lady was professional sounding, after I told her I had received a call from this number, so asked me for my social security number to look up my account. I said, "No, not gonna do that". She then asked me for my full name, and I said, "nope, that's it" and I hung up. They may have been Wells Fargo, as I did recently purchase a car with them being the lender, but I don't give out my social security number to anyone from an unknown 800 number.
