Fake Amazon call. Could not even give the number properly.. (Scam call) reported by


Fake Amazon call claiming I had an order of $1,000. The caller couldn’t even give me a proper US phone number for Amazon as he repeatedly added too many digits to the number. I had fun pretending I was an authority who was on to him and his scam. Only sad thing is that I will now get a million unwanted hang up calls from India. Oh well, I’d do it again in a heart beat.

After pressing 1 to dispute a claimed high charge claim by an automated message, I was put in contact with a person (telemarketing background sounds). This person stated my name. I had not gone by that last name in over 25 years. They did confirm my address as my current one though. Suspish! I logged into my Amazon and saw no charges. At that same time, the person asked me for my date of birth to verify my address. I said "No, I think I will call Amazon directly". That is when they gave me this number as the Amazon Customer Service number. I looked it up and here I am. It does notmatch the real Amazon Customer Service number. I admit, this was a slick one.

Claimed to be from Amazon and that there was a large unknown charge on my account. Wanted me to open another window and type a new web address so they could refute the charges. Very suspicious. I told him I would call him back. When I did, the call disconnects...

Same scam claims.....it appears Amazon has an issue with the security of their client's account information.....I have recv'd 2 of these calls from heavy accented persons (Phillipines/eastIndian?) Both Claiming someone in Texas just bought an I phone 10-XR using my card and they needed to verify my information....Yeah.....Right.... I was born at night, but it wasnt last night
