Chase Fraud dept calling to do a security check on transaction (Financial services) reported by


Got a text, e-mail from Chase about a fraudulent transaction and then a call from this number. Was routed to a call center in India. I asked them to verify my details to be sure it was not some scam. They answered that they could not do that and asked me to either go to a Chase branch or call the number listed on my card. I called the number on the back of my card and it was true that my card was blocked and there was a fraudulent transaction on my card. I was routed back to the same call center in India where I provided them details and they went ahead to cancel my card and send me a replacement. Since these scammers can spoof the numbers they are calling from, its never safe to provide personal details to someone who has called you. Always call back on the official number to make sure its going to the authenticate source.

They called and told me someone tried to use my card about 5 minutes ago in another city and asked if I tried to make a purchase there. I told them no, They said they would shut down that card and send me a new one. All they needed from me was to verify my address which I did. Once call was completed, I called that same number back and it turned out to be the Chase Fraud department. Glad they caught this.
