Called from 760 678 4994 and told me to call 8004598184. The accent as stated above was correct, as well as the fact that he said it was "a personal business matter"

Asked for me. I asked what this was regarding they said it was personal matter and couldn't give me any info until they were speaking to so and so. We went in circles and I asked them for a call back number which lead me here. I have no outstanding debt so idk wtf this is about.. but I call scam.

Man with a very thick middle eastern accent said he was from ERC, a debt collector, collecting debts from AT&T. He asked if my name was so and so. I said yes, he told me my address, it was right and he mentioned an outstanding debt of $111.80. Asked if I could pay today, I told him no. He said there was a convenience fee of 12.95 and if I paid today, the payment would go down to $60 with a convenience fee of 5.00. I told him I could not. He said he would call back. I knew it was a scam when he asked me to pay.

The man with the very thick accent on the phone asked me if I was "so and so" I said "speaking" he then asked me if my address was "123 main street" (old address).. I knew then it was a scam.. He asked me for the last 4 of my social, I asked what the matter was regarding, he said he was a from a professional agency and could not reveal any information unless I could verify the last 4 of my social security number. To which I went round and round and said I could not verify the last 4 of my social security number if he could not verify which company he was working for. He then apologized and hung up.

This is a very desperate, persistent, don't take no for an answer "Collection Agency". They called on behalf of AT&T (***which is a p.o.s. internet provider.****) To start off the conversation, the woman asked for me to provide the last 4 of my social and address for verification purposes... I responded " No. You contacted me, I need you to identify yourself, your company name and get to the point, what is this call regarding? Told her repeatedly I will dispute, handle personally, she kept going round and round... so finally I hung up. The actual number called from is 1.800.875.5164. this is the number that the pest provided.

they called asking for someone else with a similar name about a debt. We don't owe anyone any amount of money that would warrant a debt collector to call us. When we tell them so they say sorry and hang up until the next day when they call with the robocall. I wish they would stop calling!

Another pages state this should be some debt collectors = telemarketing for me, I have no outstanding debts... No idea where they got my number, on the other hand I blocked it, can't confirm who was it. Don't even plan to call them back, they left no message...
