Fake Union Bank "collections" (Scam call) reported by


Called 2x in three days. First caller was garbled, but after listening to it several times it was vaguely understandable as "Union Bank Collections". Big red flags was they didn't identify who they were looking for and that the message was hard to understand. Looked up the 1-800 number and found that this number has been reported since 2007 as phishing information by scaring people with the threat of collections to divulge personal information. If answered, or if the number is called back they start asking for address, SSN, and other personal information. Let it got to voice mail, hang up, don't talk to them and don't call back. Call your institution directly and ask THEM if there's issues... I did just that when they called the second time. They said there were no notes about problems and they hadn't tried to contact me. FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS SEND LETTERS! THEY DON'T MAKE PHONE CALLS!
