Caller said my power was going to be shut off in 30 minutes (Telemarketer) reported by


Call stated my "electric company" was coming to my house to shut off my service for non payment in 30 minutes. I dont know about anyone else but never got a "courtesy" call to let me know someone was on their way to shut me off. I checked National Grid website and my bill is current. I actually have this month's bill paid too. This is a scam!

claimed to be electric company (Scam call) reported by


Called from this number and left a different callback number: 800-988-8583. Claimed to be National Grid calling about a billing issue (in voice mail). I have a Rhode Island area code, and National Grid is provider in RI, but National Grid is NOT a provider where I live now. I haven't an account with them in over 6 years (moved out of state but retained phone #). Clearly bulk calling RI numbers. I did not call back.

I live in Rhode Island as do my elderly parents. They were recently contacted from this person, who gave the name Anthony Miles, who stated they were behind on their account. He wanted my father to go to a local Walgreens and call him from there. My parents figured this scam out before sending any money to this man.

Scammer pretending to National Grid and threatened cut off (Scam call) reported by


Said I hadn't paid bill and that I'd received 3 letters from them. They said they a truck was on its way to cut me off. I spoke with a "supervisor" who told me he would contact the truck but I needed to pay the bill while they did an investigation. I was calling national grid from my other phone and I owed them nothing. Still, worrying.
